Retirees' Pensions to increase by 11%

Minister of Labour, and Social Insurance, Taib Louh, signed on Saturday and official decision to increase retirees’ pensions by 11%, in the framework re-evaluating those pensions for the benefit of 2.183.447 retirees.

Minister Taib Louh said, during his supervision on the process of signing the special decision about increases in the pensions, at the ministry, that the re-evaluation of the retirees pensions came following the decisions by the president Bouteflika, in the framework of improving the purchasing power of retirees.

The minister confirmed the need to improve the purchasing power of all workers, through reviewing the wages and pensions, and stopping the high prices which destroyed the periodic increases that were applied recently.

Taib Louh was keen on the importance of expanding the social coverage for the special categories.

“A preparation is ongoing to open centre for rays which detect cancer in Ouergla, southern Algeria, as it will be the fifth of the kind. Bill on artists and producers will be presented soon to the government”.
