Roadside bomb targets Gendarmerie patrol in Boumerdes province
A home-made bomb went off Friday evening at the passage of a Gendarmerie patrol in the locality of Chaâbet El Ameur in Boumerdes province, 50 km east of Algiers. No casualties were reported.
- The National Gendarmerie roving squad, who were on board a vehicle on a routine patrol in the area, miraculously survived the bomb blast which occurred just a few moments after their passage.
- Shortly after the explosion, combined counter- terrorism security forces swiftly invested the area to track down the perpetrators of this bomb attack which was carried out, according to security sources, through a remote control cellular device.
