Russian experts to train nuclear scientists in Algeria

Russian scientists are expected to come later to Algeria to contribute in the training of nuclear scientists in Algeria, Echorouk has learnt from well-informed sources.

• Algeria will send a number of Algerian specialists in nuclear field to Russia and for necessary training as well. This comes in preparation for Algeria nuclear reactors establishment for generating energy.
• In the same context, Algerian Minister of Energy and Mines, Chakib Khalil Saturday confirmed that Algeria needs a military cooperation with Moscow.
• According to him, a nuclear plant with 1,000 megawatt required 1,000 executives to control them whether they are nuclear scientists or security officers.
• Chakib Khalil pointed out that Algeria is preparing a bill for the use of nuclear energy for peaceful purposes and it will be presented at the parliament for endorsement later.
• In parallel with Algeria’s intention to establish new nuclear reactors, such as Nour reactor in Algiers and Essalam reactor in Djelfa  province , Algeria begun training of its scientists in this field. It is meant to establish more reactors in the future with the INEA, the International Nuclear Energy Agency in addition to France’s contribution in completing a number of these reactors.
