S.G of Arab Doctors' Union, Egyptian Abou Fatouh, falls into disgrace …

The Deans of the Algerian Doctors have stepped up their contacts with their Arab counterparts with the aim of defining a common stance to put an end to the reprehensible deeds of the current secretary general of the Arab doctors' Union, Egyptian Abd Monaim Abou Fatouh, who has incurred the ire and indignation of his peers across the Arab world.

  • The Deans of the Algerian Doctors have stepped up their contacts with their Arab counterparts with the aim of defining a common stance to put an end to the reprehensible deeds of the current secretary general of the Arab doctors’ Union, Egyptian Abd Monaim Abou Fatouh, who has incurred the ire and indignation of his peers across the Arab world.
  • A meeting of coordination and concertation is to be held today in Italy among the Union’s members outside the proceedings of a Euro-Mediterranean conference bringing together representatives of trade Unions of doctors of the countries bordering the Mediterranean basin.
  • To this effect, the deputy secretary general of the Arab doctors’ Union and spokesman of the deans of Algerian doctors, Kaceb Mustapha, told yesterday “Echorouk” that the relevant meeting would be geared to paving the way for the holding of fresh elections within the Union so as to elect a new secretary general in replacement of Egyptian Abd Al Monaim Abou Fatouh who uses, he said, illegal means by notably squandering the financial resources of the Union and imposing an all-out monopoly and a blatant nepotism in favour of his country Egypt.
  • He added that a large majority of the Union’s member countries were seriously envisaging to vote massively for the transfer of the headquarters of the Union of Arab doctors now based in Cairo to another Arab capital during the proceedings of the upcoming conference of the member countries slated for January 2010 in Algiers.
