Saadani: “Ben Flis has the right to run … but not as an FLN candidate”

Secretary-General of the National Liberation Front, Amar Saadani, renewed in a regional meeting in Batna (eastern Algeria), the position of the party in supporting Abdelaziz Bouteflika’s fourth term, as he is the honorary President of the party for what he presented as a positive start to restore security and stability thanks to the law on national reconciliation, and the results at the level of development, that should be completed through consolidating security and institutional reforms.

“Coming Presidential Elections will be an opportunity for the FLN party to be a leader not a follower”.

With a language of challenge that was directed to what he called corrupt and manipulators of the revolution and the suspects who want to target the stability with suspicious titles, Saadani said; “Presidential Elections 2014 will be a date to encourage the National Liberation Front to lead the power, and not being only a front that supports the regime, because the majority party is the ruler not the rules. We are right and we will not overfeed in it. We will not give it to others even if it is close to us.”

Saadani asked for the need to amend the Constitution before the coming Presidential Elections, considering that the amendment has become an imperative political sureness that requires the introduction of inclusive radical reforms, the first is building the foundations of a civil state in which the institutions play a full role, through the separation of powers and the promotion of human rights, free expression, and expand the powers of parliament to monitor the government with strict control, a republic where everyone is subject to the constitution.

“National People’s Army is a republic institution that shares the same revolutionary and historical reference with the National Liberation Front.

In his brief remarks while he was leaving the room, and in answer to the position of the candidate Ali Benflis, Ammar Saidani said he has the right to run, like the rest of the other candidates.
