Saadani pressurized Bouteflika to become Vice President
Events are accelerating and are growing within the FLN party, increasingly, to the point of posing more than a question mark over the fate of the ancient party after the Presidential Elections of 2014.
Belaiat announced on submitting a file to the Interior Ministry to request a license to hold a special session of the Central Committee before the end of the month.
Opponents of FLN’s Secretary-General, Ammar Saadani, entered the final stages of the battle between the two sides, since last August 29, as the coordinator of the Political Bureau, Abderrahmane Belaiat, asserted, during the era of Abdelaziz Belkhadem, in a phone conversation with Echorouk, that he started in the preparation of the required documents for requesting a license to hold a central committee, adding that he will deposit the demand by himself pursuant to Article IX of the domestic law of the Central Committee, at the Interior Ministry services in a few days.
“My comrades in FLN’s Central Committee, who opposed Saadani, announced on Tuesday their union once and for all, as there is no longer presence of a reform movement, members of political office and members of the central committee, because all parties fused in one Committee which aimed at overthrowing Saadani, the head of the party We are on the verge of collecting the signatures of two-thirds of the Central Committee members”.
Member of the Political Bureau, Abdelhamid Si Afif explained that opponents of Saadani, held a closed-door meeting on Monday night, and they all agreed to coordinate their efforts for one coordinator Abderrahmane Belaiat.
“We collected 205 signatures of the central committee memebers, to hold a session of the Central Committee before the end of this month, for the election of a new General Secretary to replace Abdelaziz Belkhadem”.
“Party activists and members of the Central Committee joined the initiative, after the seriousness of the situation, which FLN has reached, because of the policies of Amar Saadani. They are concerned about the fate of the party and therefore we have to hurry to save what can be saved”.
Saadani opponents renewed their support for President Abdelaziz Bouteflika, if he will run for a fourth term.
“If Bouteflika will run, we are prior and no can discuss with us in this matter” referring to mar Saadani, who accuses his opponents to work for the benefit of former Prime Minister and the presumed candidate for 2014 presidential elections, Ali Benflis. If President Bouteflika will refuse to run for the coming elections, FLN will be replaced by a national consensus person”, Si Affif said.
Amar Saadani was accused by opponents of exploiting FLN Party for personal purposes, and considered that the meeting of the 11th January in the capital, which he called for, is an attempt to pressurize the president Bouteflika to amend the constitution, because Saadani dreamed of the position of Vice President, as they wondered if the president needs pressure to modify Constitution or to run for the a fourth term?
