Sahel chiefs of staff council's meeting: For achieving a common counterterrorism strategy
The extraordinary meeting the chiefs of staff council of Sahel countries, members of the Joint Operational Chiefs of Staff Committee, has wrapped up Sunday at the sixth Military Command of Tamanrasset by the signing of the minutes of the meeting and the transfer of the rotating presidency of the Committee from Algeria to Mali.
- The meeting, which brought together the chiefs of staff of Algeria, Mali, Mauritania and Niger, enabled the participants to assess the security situation prevailing in the Sahel region.
- They also exchanged information and analyses likely to help draw up an exhaustive report on the activities and actions carried out for achieving a common strategy against terrorism and organized crime.
