Salafist Group appoints new « leaders » and retreats its terrorist plan

Echorouk has learnt from some informed sources that the named “Abdelmalek Droudkel”, terrorist leader of the Salafist Group for Preaching and Combat (GSPC) had commissioned one of its elements during the last few days to restructure and arrange battalions in Tizi Ouzou province (100 km east of Algiers). It appointed some names known as dangerous and ancient elements active on this province as well.

• According to available information, in spite of his absence from the region because of the security measures, he had commissioned his personal envoy there in order to accelerate the rebuilding and organizing the group in Tizi Ouzou as rapid as possible as well as facilitating contact and linking process.
• This new plan, according to recent testimony by some repentants and information made by some arrested terrorists, is limited on alleviating the number of active elements in the various battalions in the region to less than 10 in each criminal cell. This plan is meant to facilitate its movement and create confusion among security elements, in addition to dispersing strikes on different levels of the province and deluding general opinion that the organization is strong and distributed across the province.
• In addition to this plan, the same sources added that among the major items of the new plan in Tizi Ouzou, the idea of reviving the “Akfado battalion” where the GSPC’s elements have been activating and focusing on recruiting new armed elements since the early nineties.
• This new strategy concealed a new strategy for the terrorist group aiming at recharging its ranks with new recruits to avoid any new mistakes likely to eliminate its leaders.  “Sadaoui Abdelhamid”, “Sofiane Fassila”, “Bouazoune Nadir” nicknamed “ Chouaib” , and “Moussa Karrar”, in addition to many other terrorists are an example on that.
• At a conclusion of the new strategy in the region, the fourth battalion begun its work, which is “Alfarouk battalion.”
