Same family members kill a warden to steal money from the bank
The criminal court of Algiers has yesterday opened the case of the burglary of 130 million Algerian Dinars ( 1.3 million Euros) that took place in the Algerian Bank of Local Development ( BDL) here in Algiers and the savage killing of night warden.
- The investigations have revealed that a whole family including the parents, children and stepchildren were involved in the heinous crime.
- The events go back to April 22, 2000, when the main convict T.M , a former customs officer who works as a security agent at the same bank, went to the building to keep company to the night warden Mamouni Mohammed who informed him that huge sums of money were deposited in the bank.
- Following this information, the main convict T.M plotted with his stepbrother N. K , his three girls and wife to steal the bank.
- The four criminals moved to the bank which is located in Ali Boulendjel street (downtown Algiers) on a weekend with four suitcases. The investigations have revealed that one of them hit the warden on a head with a pick and hanged him on a wall to disguise the crime by a suicide.
- After their crime, they dug a whole on the wall and stole nearly 104 million Algerian Dinars before leaving 30 thousand Algerian Dinars in the victim’s pocket to involve him in the burglary.
- The public prosecutor has sentenced the father and his stepson to death penalty, 10 years for his wife and five years to the others.
