Sarkozy’s visit to Israel vs. Bouteflika’s refusal

Most French newspapers said that François Fillon who visited Algeria carrying with him big contracts and cooperation projects, could not convince Algeria to participate in the MU summit.

French newspapers explained that President Bouteflika’s position saying that he is searching for Paris’ compromises, in the other hand they said that Sarkozy’s visit to Israel and the timing of these events with the MU summit ruined all the event and installs doubts about this project’s aims. 

French Diplomatic sources said that Bouteflika’s position to participate in the MU summit will remain unknown until last moments.” Le Figaro” headlines its article on Algerian president’s refusal to participate in Paris summit on the 13 July : “Bouteflika’s refusal”.

“Liberation” newspaper has expressed his rejection; “François Fillon chocked with Bouteflika’s silence”.   

“Le Point” newspaper described his position ;“ Bouteflika’s silence about the MU and Sarkozy’s project”, while “Le Parisien” newspaper talked about Fillon who left Algeria without obtaining any approval of Bouteflika .
