Security forces foil plane bomb plot at Algiers airport

A criminal court in Algiers will start hearing four convicts operating within the terrorist organization” Salafit Group for call and Combat”, who planned to explode a plane at Algiers international airport.

• According to sources, the defendants were plotting for the blow up of a plane in addition to an attempt to kidnap a businessman in a bid to ask a ransom to finance future terrorist acts.
• One of the terrorist was a former engineer at Algiers international airport and worked in helping his fellow criminals from inside in order to perpetrate their act, aborted by the airport security forces who succeeded in the dismantling of the network last April.
