Security forces foil terrorist act against official convoy

The Examining Magistrate of the court of Berahal has yesterday ordered the imprisonment of two individuals and put a third one on parole after being arrested by the security forces when they were taking photos of a military barracks and the main place due to be visited by the Prime Minister Abdelmalek Sellal during his visit to the province of Annaba today.

Echourouk source has indicated that the individuals are affiliated with a group of supporters of terrorists with money and other commodities. High-tech mobile phones containing photos of the military barracks and the itinerary of the Prime Minister were seized by the investigators.

Inquiries are still underway with the arrested individuals in order to know more about their relationship with members of the terrorist group; meanwhile, Echourouk sources have asserted that the security forces have foiled an attempt to carry out a terrorist act in the main place where the PM was due to stop.

The same sources have asserted that the individuals could be affiliated with Al Qaeda in the Islamic Maghreb and moved to the region with the aim to carry out a terrorist aginst the official convoy.
