Security forces kill three terrorists behind Algerian President assassination attempt: interior minister

Three terrorists who were involved in an assassination attempt against Algerian President Abdelaziz Boutaflika were killed by security forces in Batna province (east of Algiers) in the last few weeks, Yazid Zerhouni, interior minister said Monday.

“The terrorists’ identities have been identified and a judicial investigation is carried out with 11 other arrested terrorists,” said Zerhouni. 

In September 2007, a suicide bomber killed 15 people and injured 74 in an assassination attempt against President Bouteflika in Batna

 According to security analyses, the interior minister means three terrorists out of five who were killed by security forces in Batna, many weeks ago.
