Security Services declare war on Algiers' chaotic markets
Major Touileb Omar, commander of the regional battalion of the National Gendarmerie in Bir Mourad Rais, of the regional group of Algiers, revealed on a plan to adjust the movements of the elements that are suspected of being implicated in brawls and crimes at the neighborhood level, in order to anticipate and monitor any operation.
“The battalion is trying to improve its performance of coverage, good, lasting and continuous spread to ensure security and comfort of citizens, through searching and controling the dangerous neighborhoods”, he added.
Elements of the battalion implemented, during the last 48 hours, raids at the neighborhoods focusing on the dens of crime and banditry, where they tightening control on the suspects in all neighborhoods, that are known for the growing of the phenomenon, and where they arrested three Moroccans, who entered the national territory illegally, as investigations showed that they work for a private company and mester craft construction with plaster since days.
Security services also discovered that 847 people and seized five cars with forged numbers, which were detected using a device for detecting the stolen cars.
“Elements of the battalion arrested on Friday evening, hours before carrying out raids, someone who was driving a car carrying a “diplomat numbering”, coming out from Blida towards Algiers, at the level of Baba Ali bridge, and after interrogating him, they discovered that he was driving the car since months, and that it belonged to a Yemeni student who was studying in Algeria, then he handed it to him and left Algeria 8 months ago, without taking the necessary measures to notify the security authorities, which seized the car and brought him before the administrative and judicial authorities”.
In parallel, elements of the Gendarmerie Battalion vacated the territory of anarchist vendors, as the process will continue next week in the municipality of Gue de Constantine at the level of National Road No. 38, in coordination with the administrative authorities that deployed 30 trucks, and stopped a cooperative building without licence in ancient Ain Naadja based on confirmed information.
On the other hand, the regional battalion of the National Gendarmerie of Dar El Baida, launched similar raids, which resulted in the definition of 1400 persons and vehicles, in addition to the evacuation of the national road No. 145 from anarchist salesmen, and raided several neighborhoods in search of criminals and thieves , where crime becomes flagrant.
