Echorouk has learnt from reliable sources that several influential members of the Algerian Football Federation (F.A.F) and a host of senior state officials want Sheikh Rabah Saâdane to replace Bosnian coach Hallilodzic even on a temporary basis in order to lead the Algeria national football squad during next June’s World cup tournament to be hosted by Brazil.

The situation has of late taken a new turn with regard to the file of the Algeria football line-up with current national team Coach Vahid Hallilodzic embroiled in a bitter row with F.A.F chairman Mohamed Raouraoua notably over the final list of players expected to form the national squad who will take part in the 2014 world cup contest.

Given his past fruitful experience at the head of the “Greens” of Algeria, veteran coach Rabah Saâdane is being upheld by these officials who surmise that this choice is reasonable and logical as the latter is able to lead the national squad to the next world cup with some chances of success.

It should be noted that seasoned coach Rabah Saâdane led the national football team on three occasions to the World cup notably in 1982, 1986 and 2010 contrary to coach Vahid Hallilodzic who has no similar experience on the matter.

Saâdane also coached the junior national squad to the world cup tournament in 1979.

Rabah Saâdane was often dubbed as the “firefighter” when he took in charge with much success the Algeria football squad several times during woeful and turbulent periods.
