According to the same source, six monkeys attack the area from time to time triggering fear among the residents while forest guards did not react.

Some parents do not allow their children in the street while others accompany them to the school fearing of the monkeys.

An old woman said she saw a monkey entering her house and eating all the figs in her fig-tree.
-
She also saw another monkey jumping on the balcony while a shop keeper says monkeys entered his shop and ate his peanuts.

Residents believe that those monkeys come from the nearby forest Bouchaoui and they likely run away from their owners.

Others say they are wild and they may carry rage or any other disease.

The residents asked the help of municipal agents to capture the monkeys before they reach their children but no one has intervened yet.
