Spain toughens passport controls
Children are the first victims
Spanish authorities have decided to toughen border controls by compelling foreigners to show an individual passport for each person wanting to enter Spanish soil including small children.
-
This coercive measure has unfortunately prevented many Algerian migrants to accompany their children to Spain where they reside and work after paying a visit to Algeria.
-
-
The sticking point is that the Algerian authorities deliver individual passports only to those aged 18 or more.
-
-
Families from several provinces including Tiaret, Tissemsilt and Chlef in western Algeria are now completely nonplussed in the face of such an untoward situation.
-
-
Some of them were desperately compelled to part with their small children in Algeria after all their appeals fell through.
