Spanish firms invited to invest in renewable energies in Algeria
ALGIERS- Energy and Mines Minister Youcef Yousfi called Thursday Spanish companies to take part in the renewable energy development programme launched recently in Algeria, a ministry's statement said.
In a meeting with Spain’s Secretary of State for Foreign Trade Alfredo Bonet Baiget, Yousfi invited Spanish companies to “establish a balanced partnership in renewable energy, with a commitment to technology transfer and manufacturing, in Algeria, of some equipment used in this industry,” the statement added.
Bonet expressed interest in the program, noting Spanish companies’ experience in the field. In addition to renewable energy, the two ministers reviewed cooperation in seawater desalination, the field in which Spanish companies want to forge a long term partnership, the Spanish official stressed.
