Spanish Repsol selected in an international bid.

Spanish gas and oil company Repsol has been short listed in the preliminary international bids due to be lunched by the Algerian authorities within the next three years.

• This selection is considered as strong signal from the Algerian authorities towards Repsol in order to reach a consensus in the judiciary “battle” between this company and the Algerian oil company Sonatrach in the so called “Gaci Touil” case where Sonatrach asked the Spanish company compensations for not being able to respect the terms of a contract.
• To recall, Sonatrach sealed a deal with both Spanish companies Repsol and Gaz Natural for the creation of a facility for gas liquefaction in the region of Arzew (west of Algeria).
