It is a serious and frightening case about Algerian bloody years between 1995 and 2005 marked by the Armed Islamic Group “GIA” under the leadership of Antar Ezzawabiri and Noureddine Boudiafi alias Hakim Elarbiji, the only suspect is the so-called Abou Hoitama.

  • The suspect has already admitted that he killed about 100 people and 5 members of the National Army during 10 years of terrorist acts in the region of Khemis Meliana (west of Algeria).
  •  The suspect said he raped 6 married women and teenagers after he had abducted. He killed them at the end.

  • A criminal court in Algiers Sunday postponed this case because of the suspect insisted on his lawyer’s presence although the court had appointed a lawyer to defend him.  
  • The case file contains dangerous crimes including working with an armed terrorist group, spreading terror among population, possession of military weapons, murder, destruction, kidnapping and rape.  One person G.J alias Abou Haitama is charged with all these crimes. He was arrested in the beginning of May 2005. He stated that he joined armed terrorist groups in 1994.
  • The year of 1998 was the beginning of the GIA’s bloody acts when they stormed about 7 houses and killed all people there (from 5 to 12 individuals in one family).

  • Collective massacres, rape, false roadblocks, stealing money

  • False roadblocks were numerous in addition to attacking members of the national army in their camps as well as an attack carried by 100 terrorists on a barrack. As for heinous crimes, there were collective massacres.

  • In 2004, the suspect went to Algiers where Hakim Elabiji had an intention to bring funds for his fellows and collect money. Yet, Noureddine Boudiafi was arrested by security forces and the so-called Ilias from Chlef province (west of Algeria) replaced him and became the new leader. He was killed in 2005.
