Strike movement prevent thousands of workers from their salaries

Thousands of employees from the hydrocarbons company, Sonatrach and others from the post and telecommunication company were prevented from their salaries due to the movement of strike initiated by the workers of pots and telecommunications.

Sources from the Algerian Posts union have revealed to Echourouk that the thousands of other employees from other sectors will not be able to withdraw their salaries as the movement of strike will last till January 9.

The same sources have indicated that the Union’s Secretary General Mourad Ben Djeddi convened yesterday with the representatives of the regional unions in order to call for the protesters to resume work on Saturday, but the employees have rejected the call until the fulfilment of their grievances.

Among them, the immediate departure of the present Director General Mohand Laid Mehloul.

The company’s General Directorate has announced its accord concerning three grievances related to the promotions, means of work and the reduction of working hours, but the workers stick to their movement.
