Stunning revelations of a grand mother who kidnapped her grand daughter

Appearing yesterday before the judge at Oran court (western Algeria), Safia’s grand mother related the tragic story of her grand daughter, whom she tried with all means to keep her by her side over 8 years, before handing her over to her Christian father, the French citizen Cherbouk.

• She admitted hiding the girl Safia whom she said was not only an “Algerian citizen” but also, “the one billion and half Muslims’ daughter that she tried with all her power to protect her Islamic identity from the Christian Jacques Cherbouk”.
• The desperate grand mother Ben Nekrouf gave further details about the way she moved along with her grand daughter to a remote disused house in Ain Temouchent (western Algeria) to leave in for a whole week.
• She denied any involvement of the daughter’s uncle Belhoucine Abdellah  in the “abduction” of the little girl and the purported allegations that he was the mastermind of this operation. For his part, the owner of the house acknowledged that fact that he had only forwarded the door’s declining knowing the identity of the dwellers.

• The judge pronounced sentences between 2-3 years imprisonment against the defendants.
