Sugar and cooking oil wholesalers waiting for effective implementation of new prices

ALGIERS- Many wholesalers of Algiers decided Monday to suspend sales of sugar and cooking oil until the new prices set by the Government in consultation with the producers and importers are implemented, before the end of the week, as announced by the Government.

On Sunday, Trade Minister Mustapha Benbada announced that the prices of sugar and cooking oil will decrease by the end of the week to reach DZD90 a kilo of sugar and DZD600 a 5-liter tin of cooking oil.

“Our suppliers have contacted us for the implementation of the new prices of sugar and oil.

But we prefer waiting till tomorrow or the day after tomorrow to do it,” explained the wholesalers in the district of Jolie-Vue (Kouba), in a statement to APS.
