Summer Blue Plan 2012: 80.000 Policemen to Protect Holidaymakers from Potential Terrorist Attacks
General Manager of the National Security, Major General Abdelghani Hamel, gave instructions to his services across the country to secure the summer season, which coincides with the month of Ramadan, focusing on the need to provide security for the Algerian and foreign holidaymakers.
In this context, the General Manager of public security at the General Directorate for National Security, first dean of police Aissa Naili, that the instructions of Hamel is part of the application of the Summer Blue plan, asserting that more than 80.000 policemen were recruited to secure the summer season, and protecting of 60 beaches where swimming is allowed, throughout setting up 58 police centers, deployed across 14 coastal localities.
The second will head for the western provinces of Tlemcen, El-Ghazaouet, Marsa Ben M’hidi, Beni Saf, Oran, Mostaganem, Chlef, Tipaza and western Algiers (Staoueli, Zeralda and Ain Benian).
The initiative, organized over the past years by the Directorate General of National Police, aims at raising awareness of young Algerians of road risks and hazards and of drug abuse, through the mobilization of 24 policemen at the different summer camps, youth centres, amusement parks and public places.
