Superpowers laud the Algerian intervention in Ain Amenass

The US president Barack Obama has asserted that his administration will join efforts to its Algerian counterparts to prevent another terrorist attack like the one carried out in Ain Amenass.

Talking in the wake of the Algerian forces assault on the gas facility, the president declared” We will continue our military cooperation with our partners in their fight against terrorism”.

“This terrorist attack, is another warning against the menace of Al Qaeda and the extremist groups based in North Africa”, he added. He recalled that the United States will work hand in hand with Algeria to prevent such acts in the future.

He went on saying “ We will keep close contact with the Algerian authorities in order to collect more information over the terrorist attack and work together to avert it in the future”.

The US president has laid the blame on the terrorist groups and held them responsible for the tragedy that claimed lives of innocent civilians, noting that his country staunchly condemns such an act.

The British Premier David Cameron has tempered his position after expressing his disappointment following the Algerian intervention in the site without prior notice. He has declared that the terrorists should be held accountable for the fall of the victims not the Algerian authorities, seizing this opportunity to suggest the addition of the issue of counterterrorism fight on top of the agenda of the G8 summit chaired by the UK in 2013.

For his part , the French president François Hollande has expressed its full support to the Japanese government knowing that some 10 Japanese nationals are counted missing. A communiqué released yesterday by the Elysée reveals that the French president has, in a telephone conversation, with the Japanese Prime Minister expressed his support to this country.
