Survey warns aginst future flooding disaster in Bourdj Bou Arreridj
According to survey carried out by civil protection department, 12 localities of the town of Bourdj Bou Arreridj are endangered by flooding due to their location by the river banks, crossed by rivers or simply erected on river beds.

The survey reveals that the town comprises four major lakes; the first one is “Al Hodhna Lake” which stems from “Al Kaceb” river, the second from “Al Manssoura” and “Oued Mhir”rivers, the third flows down south Soumam Lake from “Chartioua” and “Mehdjer” rivers and the last finishes at “Ain zada” coming from “Tagrout “ river.

In reference to previous flooding that hit the region, it was concluded that the most endangered zones are: the city center of Bourdj Bouaareridj, Bourdj Ghedir, Ghilassa, Hassnaoua, Medjana, Rass Al Oued, Hamadia, Al Aach, sidi M’Barek, Ain sultan,Ain tagrout and Khellil Al Mhir.
