Syrian delegation in Algeria to end war
Algerian officials Wednesday received the Secretary General of Syria’s Ba’ath party and a security delegation to seek mediation between revolutionaries and the Assad regime and end the war which took thousands of lives, Echorouk has learnt.
The delegation came on a Russian special plane from Paris and arrived to the International Airport of Algiers. Its included five government senior officials, domestic security chief and deputy governor of Aleppo.
They were received by the Algerian interior minister’s Secretary General Abdelkader Ouali, a representtaive from the Algerian foreign ministry and some high-ranking officers. They were taken to El Mithak State Residence in Algiers.
Algeria’s position toward the Syrian revolution triggered negative reactions as it opposed the decision to give a seat at the Arab League to the Syrian opposition.
