Syrian Opponent Al-Maleh Denies Defection From the SNC
Syrian opponent activist Haithem al-Maleh told Assia Chalabi of Echorouk that the new body he has just established with 70 opponents will provide logistic and financial support to the Syrian Free Army, as the Syrian National Council could not assume such a task.
Mr Haithem denied that the new opponent body as a defection act from the Syrian National Council. “The new body is baptized the National Front for the Support of the Free Army, which is an outcome of recommendations of the SNC, aiming at providing on ground support to the Free Army, rather than sticking on moral support,” Mr al-Maleh said, adding that “We are coordinating with different institutions, and I categorically deny reports saying our new body is a defection act from the SNC. The National Front for the Support of the Free Army works under the umbrella of the SNC to coordinate efforts and achieve the ultimate goal of freedom.”
The opponent indicated that “the SNC found difficulties to provide logistic support to the Free Army of Syria, though it is a priority. As a matter of fact, we will try to bridge such a gap.”
