Taxes on new cars into effect in Algeria
The larger the engine is, the more the tax on new cars is.
New measures to levy taxes on the acquisition of new cars have come into effect since Friday, according to the additional financial law, forcing citizens to pay a tax for his newly bought car.

These taxes vary according to the capacity of each car, the acquirer has to pay 50 thousand Algerian Dinars for a new car whose capacity doesn’t exceed 800 cubic –centimetres cylinder, and 70 thousand Algerian Dinars for those varying between 800 and 1,500 cubic –centimetres cylinder.

By and large, the larger the engine is the more the tax is. Some 90 thousand Algerian dinars was the tax fixed for cars whose engines vary between 2,000 and 2,500 cubic-centimetres cylinder, while the four –wheel drive of more than 2500 cubic centimetres is taxed 100 thousand Algerian Dinars.

The taxes are even higher as concerns diesel engines cars, the citizen has to pay 70 thousand Algerian dinars for 1,500 cubic centimetres engines and 90 thousands for cars varying between 1,500 and 2,000 cubic-centimetres.
