Three percent only of primary schools and seven percent of junior high schools in Algiers went on strike.
The National Union of Education and Training Workers Sunday said 64 percent of teachers and employees went on an open strike in Algeria to protest against the ministry for not keeping its promises.
According to the union, the highest rate was in the provinces of Biskra, Laghouat, Batna, Tizi Ozou, Annaba and Mascara with around 70 percent.
