Tens of soldiers escaped Moroccan army in protest on its colonisation greed, says Sergeant on the run
He spent more than 18 years of service in the Moroccan army. He escaped the military unit which keeps watch on shame wall next to liberated Sahrawi lands. Al Makhzen sent 300 soldiers from this unit and transported it from the wall to Al Ayoun to besiege Sahrawi innocent people.

It is Sergeant Abdellah Oueld Mahmoud Oueld Abid Attahar Djaribi. He was born in 1973 and was raised up in the Sahara. He joined the Moroccan army in 1992. That means a year after the signature of a cease-fire agreement between the Polisario Front and Morocco.
The Sergeant on the run told Echorouk about many Moroccan system-related issues, its involvement in the attack on neighbouring countries and corruption.
He also said Al Makhzen is involved in smuggling drug in Algeria to create troubles to it with the international community.
Ready to unveil Al Makhzen and escape idea was planned five years ago
“I was moved by the Akadim camp massacre in occupied Al Ayoun and I am ready to unveil Am Makhzen which got its army involved in attacking its neighbours,” said Sergeant Abdellah Djribi.
“I had thought about escaping since I joined the shame wall in 2005. Yet, my mother’s conditions prevented me of that. She lost her two sons following mines explosion planted by the Moroccan army in the Western Sahara,” he added.
“I had to be patient and to check the mine places along the wall. On November 17th, I managed to escape the shame wall at around 3 a.m. In the area of Arli where the Sahrawi army was present, I got a hearty welcome.”
He was transferred to the second military zone of the Democratic Sahrawi Arab Republic’s army. “I stayed there for three days before I had been taken to Raboni where I was given all details and security information relating to al Makhzen.”
Corruption
Sergeant Abdellah Djribi unveiled many serious truths about corruption in Al Makhzen through his personal experience in the Moroccan army.
He said soldiers do not find enough food because of unfair distribution of ammunition while big leaders gain profits. “In addition, there is a drug policy. Most of unit commanders sell drug to their soldiers and gain huge profits.
Al Makhzen’s plans to smuggle drug to Algeria
Sergeant on the run says influential people in Morocco passed by borders with Algeria closed for many years to smuggle drug. “I got exact information about the involvement of colonels with Algerian smugglers. They worked according to Al Makhzen’s plans in order to make Algeria a transit center of drug.”
“Morocco is ready to be Demon’s ally to take revenge against Algeria as it is against their greed in owning other’s lands.”
I was moved by Al Ayoun massacre
Segeant says “I was sad for Al Ayoun massacre perpetrated by Moroccan forces against innocents. Some 300 soldiers from my unit participated in the operation. Yet, I know that many of them were obliged to do so. Tens of Moroccan soldiers escaped to European countries.”
