Terrorism: 38 suspects interrogated over Cherchel military Academy twin suicide attack
Echorouk sources revealed that the suspected caused the death of 25 soldiers, including two foreign officers, one of them from Sirya and the other from Mali, and 35 injured, as the criminal attack was carried out before the maghreb prayer in Ramadan on August, 26, 2011.
The bombers, one on a motorcycle, reportedly set off explosions a few seconds apart in front of the entrance to the academy’s officers’ mess hall, just as soldiers were assembled to break the Ramadan fast.
Unable to access the interior of the academy because of the increased security, the two terrorists blew themselves up before the officers’ mess of the military school located on the main road.
The wounded were evacuated to hospitals and clinics close to the military school in Sidi Ghilès, Tipaza and Ain Naâdja Hospital.
