Terrorism: Algeria Security services foil attempt to support terrorists with 20 quintals of fertilizers used in manufacturing explosives

Last week end, Algerian security services foiled an attempt to support terrorist groups with more than 20 quintals of nitrogenous fertilizers used in manufacturing explosives in the regions of Boumerdes and Tizi Ouzou, east of Algiers, coming from a company in the east of Algeria.

 Security services also arrested a big truck of the Type “Toyota” which was carrying over 20 quintals of fertilizers packed in 30 plastic bags, trying to reach the strongholds of terrorist groups belonging to what is called “Soldiers of Ansar”, which changed its name recently after decrease of its criminal activity following the loss of its fellows due to the combing operations by the Algerian armed forces and wave of repentance that swept these groups, although repeated attempts of their leader Abdelmalek Droukdel to activate terrorism and restore its position as had previously been the force of the terrorist group.

According to our sources, suspects were arrested and taken to investigation for disclosing the circumstances of the case, which is probably the last attempt by terrorists to provide materials used for manufacturing explosives, especially after the siege imposed by security services in the western borders where terrorists brought “TNT” extracted it of mines.

For their part, services of border guards seized more than 50 tons of chemicals used in manufacturing explosive addressed to terrorists in 2010.
