Terrorist cell disbanded in southern Algeria

Well informed sources revealed that security forces of Al Oued and Ouargla ( south of Algeria) Friday disbanded a terrorist cell linked to the so called “ Al Qaeda in the Islamic Maghreb” including four individuals aged between 24- 35 while investigations are under way to arrest others at large.

• The operation comes a week after the installation of a new security command in the region of al Oued. According to the same sources, a cache full of ammunitions and arms including a Kalashnikov was discovered not far from the city center.
• The group was arrested following revelations made by a man who joined the armed groups in 2006 and was working for the recruitment of new elements to either assign them the task to operate in the region or send them to Iraq.
