The 45th Algiers International Fair opens with 620 firms from 37 countries.

The 45th Algiers International Fair (AIF) was officially inaugurated Wednesday by the President of the Republic Mr Abdellaziz Bouteflika at the Pins Maritimes Exhibition center on the eastern outskirts of the capital Algiers in the presence of several government officials and senior diplomats from a host of foreign countries taking part in this major trading event.

  • The Algiers International Fair (AIF) is witnessing the participation of more than 600 foreign firms from 37 countries in addition to 370 national companies representing various sectors of activity. This year’s event, of which Egypt is the guest of honour, will revolve under the theme “50 years of building.” The six-day event is dedicated to the 50th anniversary of Algeria’s hard-won independence.
  • The AIF which will wind up on June 5th, takes place in a total area of ​​47,160 m2. This area will accommodate nine countries from Europe, four from Asia, six from the Americas and eight from the Arab world and an African country.
  • The Arab countries which are participating include Egypt, Iraq, Jordan, Kuwait, Syria, Palestine, Libya and Tunisia.

  • Egypt, guest of honor at the 45th edition, will participate with 61 companies activating in particular the textile, chemical and processing. A major Egyptian business community consisting of 217 economic operators will take part in the AFI looking for investment opportunities offered by Algeria.

  • European countries taking part include, Germany, France, Poland, Portugal, Serbia, Hungary, Britain and Italy. Turkey iis also present.

  • Asian countries include China,Vietnam, India and Malaysia and the Americas are repesentated by the United States Argentina Brazil, Cuba, Venezuela and Peru. Senegal is the only African country attending the Fair.

  • For Asia, it is business Chinese, Vietnamese, Indian and Malaysian who will represent their respective countries, while the Americas are represented by the United States of America, Argentina Brazil, Cuba, Venezuela and Peru .

  • A dozen different sectors will be represented including construction, public works and water (BTPH), but also energy, agribusiness, electronics and mechanical engineering.

  • Algeria will have 370 companies of which 80% are SMEs, dominated by the private sector looking for business opportunities, partnership and investment in various sectors including services, furniture and decoration, iron and steel and building materials.

  • The exhibition organisers SAFEX are expecting at least 10,000 visitors.
