The “Fennecs” in a training camp at Beni Messous under the guidance of Rabah Saâdane

The players of the national football squad have embarked upon a training camp at the National Popular Army's hotel of Beni Messous, on the heights of Algiers, in preparation for the decisive World cup qualifier versus Zambia slated for September 6th 2009 at 22 hours local time at the Tchaker stadium of Blida.

All the players were present with the exception of Halliche, Djebbour and Ghezzal who joined their teammates later in the afternoon owing to a tight travel schedule.

The players broke the Ramadhan fast together around a meal meticulously prepared by renowned food specialists led by British professor Morgan.

The meal was utterly delicious, according to all and sundry.

Before fast-breaking, the players accomplished the ritual Maghreb prayer under the guidance of Hocine Achiou, who acted as the officiating Imam for the occasion.

After a 2 hour-rest, the players started at around 23 hours p.m a training session under the watchful eye of national team coach Rabah Saâdane on the pitch of the Army’s complex of Beni Messous.

They found this pitch excellent on all accounts.

Moreover, Rabah Saâdane yesterday held a broad-based meeting with his players during which he mapped out the broad lines of his strategy ahead of the crucial Zambia qualifier and exhorted the Greens to do every thing possible in order to carry the day with flying colours on September 6th in Blida.
