“The Greens of Algeria receive a hearty welcome at Geneva airport”

The Algerian National Football squad arrived Thursday at Geneva airport in Switzerland where they will take part in a training camp ahead of a friendly international match versus Ireland on May 28th in Dublin in preparation for the upcoming World cup tournament to be hosted by South Africa starting from June 11th 2010.  

• On its arrival at the airport, the Algerian delegation was warmly welcomed by an impressive number of Algerian supporters settled in Switzerland and other neighbouring countries.
• The Algerian Ambassador in Switzerland was also present at the airport to welcome the Algerian players and the technical staff to whom he pledged the Algerian authorities’ all-out support throughout their preparatory training camp in the resort of Crans Montana in Switzerland in order to make their stay there most beneficial and rewarding on all accounts.
• It should be noted however that national team coach Rabah Saâdane for his part arrived the day before yesterday in Switzerland to pave the way for the delegation.
• Another renowned sports official namely UEFA chairman, Michel Platini, was also present at Geneva airport and was warmly hailed by the enthusiastic Algerian supporters.
• Michel Platini told them on the occasion that he expected the Algeria squad to make a good performance in the South African World cup contest.
