“The Greens of Algeria receive a hearty welcome at Geneva airport”
Jubilant Algerian supporters at Geneva Airport
The Algerian National Football squad arrived Thursday at Geneva airport in Switzerland where they will take part in a training camp ahead of a friendly international match versus Ireland on May 28th in Dublin in preparation for the upcoming World cup tournament to be hosted by South Africa starting from June 11th 2010.

On its arrival at the airport, the Algerian delegation was warmly welcomed by an impressive number of Algerian supporters settled in Switzerland and other neighbouring countries.

The Algerian Ambassador in Switzerland was also present at the airport to welcome the Algerian players and the technical staff to whom he pledged the Algerian authorities’ all-out support throughout their preparatory training camp in the resort of Crans Montana in Switzerland in order to make their stay there most beneficial and rewarding on all accounts.

It should be noted however that national team coach Rabah Saâdane for his part arrived the day before yesterday in Switzerland to pave the way for the delegation.

Another renowned sports official namely UEFA chairman, Michel Platini, was also present at Geneva airport and was warmly hailed by the enthusiastic Algerian supporters.

Michel Platini told them on the occasion that he expected the Algeria squad to make a good performance in the South African World cup contest.
