The International Olympic Committee threatens to suspend Algeria from all International competitions.

In a letter addressed to the youth and sports Minister El Hachemi Djiar, the chairman of the International Olympic Committee, Jacques Rogue, has expressed deep concern at the recent jolts within the Algerian Olympic Committee –AOC- with the postponement of the election Assembly and the abrupt resignation of –AOC- chairman Mustapha Berraf from the national Olympic body.  

• *Jacques Rogue demands the rescinding of decree n° 405 – 5.
• The chairman of the International Olympic Committee, Jacques Rogue, urged Mr. El Hachemi Djiar to rescind or to amend in depth decree n° 405 – 5 before the end of the current year in order to preserve, he said, the independence and the sovereign choices of the Algerian Olympic Committee in consistence with the regulations in force in all the member – countries with no exception.
• Jacques Rogue also demanded the holding of the election assembly of the Algerian Olympic Committee within the required deadline and the reinstatement of Chairman Mustapha Berraf, whose unexpected resignation remains utterly baffling, he said.
• For Jacques Rogue, a lingering status-quo within the Algerian Olympic Committee and a refusal to comply with the International Committee’s injunctions could trigger a suspension of Algeria from all International competitions.
