There will be no cash flow problem in Ramadan, says minister
There will be no cash flow problem in post offices in Algeria during the fasting month of Ramadan, Algerian news agency APS reporting citing the Algerian post minister Moussa Benhemadi.
“We are coordinating with the Bank of Algeria so that they will be no problem in notes in post offices during Ramadan which experiences a large demand for liquidity,” the minister told APS.
He added that 200 post offices will be provided with new automatic telling machines along with current 750 in the country.
Benhemadi announced that the government took new measures in the south through a new notes distribution network in order to avoid any cash flow crisis.
Speaking about efforts to end cash use, he said the ministry will generalize bank cards and issue new checks which allow withdrawal and payment at the same time.
