This Is How Morocco Implicated Algerians In Smuggling Of “Zatla”!

The latest report issued by the Ministry of National Defense revealed that Morocco has flooded Algeria with more than 70 tons of drugs, and implicated more than 1,000 Algerians in cases of smuggling and trafficking in these toxins, during the year 2020, which transformed Algeria from a transit country into a consumer country, including even hard drugs similarly to cocaine and heroin.

Accordingly and according to what “Echorouk” sources revealed, the leadership of the People’s National Army, in implementation of the instructions of Lieutenant General Said Chanegriha, Chief of Staff of the ANP Army, adopted a new strategy to combat the phenomenon of smuggling and drug trafficking entering from the western borders of the country, by setting up plans to develop and modernize the capabilities of the security forces and the army units, as it was decided to strengthen and tighten the security apparatus on the borders in coordination and cooperation with the various units, especially the border guards of the National Gendarmerie Command and other securitybodies.

In addition, and within the framework of besieging the drug mafia, an elaborate scheme has been implemented to tighten the screws on smugglers who operate across the 45 border villages with Morocco known for smuggling, as well as operations to expand and deepen trenches, with a national card being developed by the National Gendarmerie services, containing a data bank specific to the identity of smugglers and those preceded judicially in cases of drug smuggling, the type of vehicles used for this purpose, as well as the phone numbers of those involved in the trafficking and smuggling of these toxins, in addition to the intensification of air control of the border strip.

In terms of numbers, the various army detachments and national gendarmerie units were able during the year 2020 in the framework of fighting organized crime and border protection according to the final outcome of the Ministry of National Defense to arrest 1028 drug dealers, seize 703.2 quintals of treated caffeine, 27.89 kg of cocaine, in addition to 3611868 hallucinative tablets, while 4,755 smugglers were arrested.

According to our sources, more than 900 investigations have been opened regarding smuggling and drug trafficking at the national level during the 12 months of the year 2020, and in contrast, recent years have witnessed a significant increase in the rate of seizures, especially Indian cannabis, which transformed Algeria from a transit country into a consumer country of various narcotic types.

Drugs seized include even hard ones, similar to cocaine and heroin.

As for the information data on drug classes and types, the latter contain hemp derivatives, which is a plant that reaches a length of 6 meters annually, and grows in tropical and hot climates, and consists of hemp oil, hemp gum, hashish, hemp grass and opiates, and contains sleeping poppy and heroin, while classification of the substances that are used in injection is related to cocaine, its origin stems from the coca plant and it is called the cocaery and the capsule, as well as psychotropic substances, notably amphetamines for the benzopeniasis, and papertec, which are medicines stemming from the Sputex family.
