Three Korean evangelists caught in Algeria
The National Gendarmerie’s forces Tuesday dismantled a network working in evangelisation in the province of Tlemcen (west of Algiers).
-
This operation came following intelligence information enabling the National Gendarmerie’s forces to arrest 3 evangelists red-handed. They were caught with evangelist circulars and small bibles in Arabic and French.
-
-
The network used two South Korean girls and a young Korean man who stayed at a youth house to conduct evangelisation.

-
Sources told Echorouk the National Gendarmerie’s forces found out that the suspects entered Algeria illegally across an air trip between Seoul and Algiers. They stayed in a hotel in Oran (west of Algiers) before going to Tlemcen.

-
The evangelists started contacting young people in the town and gave them presents to get friendly with them before starting their evangelisation work.
-
-
Earlier, former Archbishop Henri Teissier of Algiers said those evangelists used money and lies about granting visas to gain people’s trust. He washed hands of them, saying “Those Christian groups harm the Catholic church as they harm Muslims.”

Echorouk had reported many evangelisation attempts in Tlemcen through books for children while investigators are still working to know the source of those books.

The National Gendarmerie’s forces seized a large quantity of sweet for children which contained presents to promote Christianity.
