Tiguentourine workers: Help us from handling companies…They are “vampires”

Dozens of workers at Tiguentourine oil base were unable to send their letters and complaints to the PM Abdelmalek Sellal, in light of the tight security measures which characterized his visit to the site, as five to six youth met the PM who greeted a crowd of people, in order to give him envelopes which contain letters and complaints, but were disappointed when they faced a human wall.

Although the atmosphere was ceremonial on Sunday morning, at Tiguentourine gas company in Ain Amenas, but this did not prevent a number of representatives of workers to walk towards the PM Abdelmalek Sellal once he left the honorary podium, in order to give him a number of envelopes which contain calls of distress by the contractual workers who were hired by handling companies which work with Sonatrach, but were disappointed after being prevented from talking to the PM and were kept away by security services.

A number of youth gave the envelop which contain their protests to Echorouk, and said that they were protesting in silence, because the ceremony was symbolic, as their letter contain their call to the PM and public authorities, to save them from the brutal exploitation of the handling companies, which they describe as vampires, because they gain deals worth billions and pay low wages to their workers, although the hard work they face.

Workers assert that what makes them unhappy is the fictional difference between the wages of Algerian workers in the handling companies, and those of the rest if employees both in Sonatrach or foreign workers, wondering; “Are we human beings from a lower class to be reared like this, as there are among us workers who get 30.000 dinars every month”.

Workers quoted testimonies of their colleagues who confronted the terrorists bravely during the attack on Tiguentourine, saying that one of the  beard workers told a terrorist who was in charge of controlling the foreign hostages; ” What you did is Haram and is illegal in sharia. These workers are guests among Muslims and are promised safety in our land”.

Beard’s friend added; ” The terrorist was astonished of the workers talk and responded; “Shut up and do not repeat what you said, if the leader hears you, you will be slaughtered and not shot”.
