Tramway crushed an elderly woman in Algiers

Tramway killed a woman in her sixties on Saturday, while she was waiting for its arrival at the station that is located in 08 May neighborhood in Algiers, as her dead body has been transferred to mortuary services in Alia cemetery.

A group of citizens, who were witnesses to the tragic incident that shook all those at the level of the station, and the people of the region, told Echorouk, that the victim, 60, was standing on the edge of the station waiting for the arrival of the “tramway”, in spite of its arrival to the station, not to mention the constant warnings of security agents to stay away from the edge, but the lady remained in place, until it crushed her on the railroad tracks.

Team of police officers, who came to the scene in order to facilitate the task of the elements of civil protection for the removal of the victim’s body, which was stuck between the wheels of the “tramway”, said that the process of lifting the corpse, which turned into scattered pieces lasted more than two hours, as the incident took place within 12:00 pm, then the body has been transferred to the mortuary services in Alia.
