Tunisian illegal trading ring dismantled in eastern Algeria

The National Gendarmerie forces, based in the locality of Ain Zitouna, 12 km west of the city of Oum El Bouagui in eastern Algeria, have succeeded in dismantling a contraband ring made up of 2 Tunisians and an Algerian who sought to introduce illegally Algerian products into neighbouring Tunisia.

The 3 smugglers were about to introduce a large quantity of Algerian wood products and over 500 tyres for motorcycles into Tunisia when they were intercepted during a routine control by National Gendarmerie elements on the National road linking the cities of Constantine and Tebessa.

The 3 arrested smugglers were remanded in custody before being brought before justice to answer for their misdeeds.
