Turkish company staff commits suicide attempts in Algeria
A total of 70 employees at iron Turkish Algerian company committed a collective suicide attempt Monday at their company in Hedjar municipality in Annaba province (east of Algiers).
- A total of 70 employees at iron Turkish Algerian company committed a collective suicide attempt Monday at their company in Hedjar municipality in Annaba province (east of Algiers).
- The protest started at around 11 am when the 70 workers gathered next to the company administration which has not meet their demand for a month. They protested against delay in salary payments and absence of insurance.
- The 70 employees went up on a storehouse of 20-metre-hight inside the company and threw themselves. The 27-year-old first victim B. Y. was seriously injured and taken to hospital.
- At around 1:25 pm, the 30-year-old second victim B. A. fell down and his head was injured.
- The angry workers kept up threatening to commit collective suicide attempt asking for their unpaid salaries and insurance contracts.
