The UK Ambassador in Algeria Andrew Henderson has said that the London authorities have no intention to urge British nationals to leave the country despite the recent terrorist threats levelled against westerners living in Algeria .

Andrew Henderson underlined that his diplomatic representation in Algiers had just recommended to British nationals here to be extremely vigilant during their movements in certain regions of the country.

He affirmed that Britain was determined to deepen and beef up her economic ties with Algeria whose development prospects are promising, he said.

Andrew Henderson stressed his convergence of views with Algerian President Bouteflika who said on many occasions that the plague of terrorism was not specific to a single country and could be rife in all countries worldwide including in the European countries.

Replying to a question on the vexed so-called Khalifa affair, the Ambassador emphasized that the legal file of the runaway billionaire Abdelmoumene Khalifa, who has fled to Britain , is under the perusal of the British justice and a verdict in the case is expected to be handed down shortly.
