Unhealthy chicken and meat seized in western Algeria

A total of 2,044 kg unhealthy chicken was seized by the National Gendarmerie in Ain Temouchent province (west of Algeria).

• This amount which was supposed to be consumed in parties, summer camps and fast food shops was taken on a truck in unsanitary conditions and under high temperature.

• The quantity of seized chicken during the weekend reached 2,044 kg including 1,544 kg unfit for consumption.  A total of 47 kg of unhealthy red meat was burned and buried following an order from the Attorney General.
