Three days of vets’ strike was enough to paralyse all activities across the country including slaughterhouses and fisheries. But the availability of butcher’s meat and poultry on the market raises the question of edibility of these products among the consumers.

  • The national vets union decided to go on strike starting from Saturday leading to a complete paralysis of the activities and a total lack of control over these products including those distribute to school children and hospital patients.
  • Consequently, huge quantities of goods are stocked in ports and airports following the decision taken by the Algerian customs to stop the clearing of these products unless checked by the relevant services.
