A number of persons broke into the Court of Algiers on Friday, entered 8 offices and took important cases-related files, Echorouk has learnt.
Investigators did not find out any stolen devices from the offices. The Court’s main gate and entrance were not broken.
That means the persons broke in with the help of people who were inside the building.
The scientific police picked up fingerprints and checked the neighbouring places to find out how the unknown persons entered the Court.
Investigators will also check video tapes as the building is equipped with a number of surveillance cameras.
Many files related to corruption cases are in the Court of Algiers offices. Of them, there are Sonatrach 1 and 2 cases.
Judges have not decided yet into a number of cases including the murder of the National Police Chief Ali Tounsi, the East-West Motorway case and the embezzlement of 3,200 billion from the Algerian National Bank.
The Court of Algiers also has many terror and suicide attack-related cases n which Abderezzak El Para, Mokhtar Belmokhtar and Abdelhamiid Abu Zeid were involved.
Questions are raised about the reasons behind Friday’s act and where the documents were taken.
