US secretary of state: Algeria is doing well
Condoleeza Rice

US state secretary, Condoleeza Rice, referred to the pivotal position in the Mediterranean and the North African region, and considered that this country “succeeded” in security matters both regionally and internationally and “it’s leading role was recognized in northern Africa and elsewhere”.

  

In a message sent to the US embassy in Algiers on the occasion of the inauguration of the new HQ, Rice added that “the Algerian society is more than ever turned to the future “. The head of US diplomacy expressed her will to work for “strengthening and promoting bilateral ties” between both countries including education, cultural exchange security and business.

Reading the message on behalf of Rice , the US ambassador to Algeria, Robert Ford declared “ We have to acknowledged the tremendous achievements since the independence of this country” adding that Washington was the first capital to appoint an ambassador to Algeria in 1962 .

To recall, the United States is highly concerned by the fostering cooperation with Algeria including the “The Great Middle East” plan and more specifically in energy field
